Greek Mythology
Phobetor, in Greek mythology, is the personification of nightmares and one of the Oneiroi, the gods of dreams. Also known as Icelus, he is the son of Nyx, the night, and is closely associated with the shaping of terrifying dreams. Phobetor weaves dark visions, haunting the sleeping mind with vivid and unsettling imagery. As a symbolic embodiment of fear, his presence in dreams is often in the form of a beast, bird, or serpent.
